BirthdayBox ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information we collect

When you use BirthdayBox, we collect:

Account information: your email address, full name, username, and date of birth.
Baby profiles: name, username, and date of birth of any child profiles you create.
Messages: text messages, photos, and videos you record and send to friends.
Device permissions: camera and microphone access (only when you record a video), photo library access (only when you attach a photo), and notification permissions.

2. How we use your information

To create and manage your account.
To store and deliver birthday messages to the intended recipient on their birthday.
To send you local notifications reminding you of friends' birthdays.
To allow you to find friends by username.

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties.

3. Data storage

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, hosted in the European Union. Media files (photos and videos) are stored in a private bucket and are only accessible to the intended recipient and the sender.

4. Data retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the Settings screen, which permanently removes all your messages, friendships, and profile data.

5. Children's privacy

BirthdayBox allows parents to create profiles for their children. These profiles are managed by the parent and no data is collected directly from children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can do this directly in the app via Settings, or by contacting us at the email below.
